Thrilled that Yard Art Day is getting lots of exposure (Charlotte Observer, ASC Culture Guide, Creative Loafing, etc) and interest! It’s been great working with Deborah Triplett to help make her idea come to fruition. On Labor Day (Sept 3rd), I encourage you to drive around and enjoy all of the art! For details, go to http://www.yardartday.org/ Please also support Common Market and the ASC as they have been huge sponsors of the project!
Excited to be chosen along with 5 other artists to be a participant in the Carolinas Fest’s Legacy Village, inviting the public to add to my painting. The project is based on this digital proposal I concocted of Charlotte skyscrapers, elements of nature, and a woman. The imagery looks to the future and represents the creativity, growth and the vibrant inhabitants of our city.
This new painting, “New! Boneless Hateless!” will be included in the “Separation of Church and State” exhibition at Packard place, which is the PPL hub during the DNC. This show is curated by Culture Initiative.
Here I am with John Hairston, Jr. after our interview with WCNC’s Sonja Gantt plugging the DNC’s Carolinas Fest. On Labor Day, come visit me at the Legacy Village tent in the Afro American Cultural Ctr’s parking lot. I’ll be there from 10:30-6 doing an interactive public art project along with John other artists!
